Set projection manually
I’m having trouble with a coordinate conversion when importing HySpex data. Our HySpex nav files are all in WGS-84 Lat-Long. Until now, I’ve been using UTM, but tonight I’ve tried using the UK OSGB36 datum and British National Grid projection. I have a good boresight data set for our airfield at Sywell. I get good results with UTM zone 30 selected; when I try and use OSGB36, however, the ‘Image Plot Area’ graphic looks strange and the x,y co-ordinates don’t make sense, (co-ordinates in the metric British Grid X,Y have 6 digits – the PARGE-calculated values X,Y have 7 and 8 digits respectively).
Additionally, after I import my OSGB36 DEM (converted to OSGB36/British Grid in ENVI), if I re-select Import Hyspex then PARGE reports ‘Unknown DEM Projection Information – Defaulting to Arbitraty Projection’.
Quote:To use the British projection, you'd need to set it manually - it can not (yet) be read by parge automatically from the GEOGCS string. Enclosed you find a screenshot which shows how you make this work. Use the function Edit: Define Map Projection to set all parameters. Further, The 'Custom Projection' with the british datum should be taken when importing the HYSPEX data. I'll check out if this can be streamlined in a better way.
