Hyperion data correction

Is there any benefit in using ATCOR-3 for correcting Hyperion data compared to for example MODTRAN?

MODTRAN is not a atmospheric correction package but just does the forward simulation. You can't do any image processing using modtran. If taking simple assumption one can program some conversion based on modtran outputs. Things lacking are: 
- haze removal
- adjacency correction
- terrain illumination correction
- aerosol detection optimization

So, there's quite some advantage with modtran.
