The problem is that north in WGS-84 geographic is one geographic point. Within an UTM zone, north is defined in a rectangular system, ie pointing at each location in parallel northwards. In the middle of the zone, the two values agree to each other but at the edges one need to take the difference into account (that's what I do with the hedi keyword or with the button 'adjust heading' in the GUI).
