How are the thermal bands processed with ASTER imagery?
The standard multispectral ASTER accepts all 14 bands, but evaluates only the surface temperature with band 13, i.e. the output file has 10 bands (9 surface reflectance, 1 temperature band). In the hyperspectral mode ("sensor/aster14") all thermal bands are processed and there are two output files a) the "aster_atm.bsq" with 15 bands - 9 surface reflectance bands - 5 bands with bb surface radiance (from the original bands 10-14) - 1 surface temperature band(b) the "aster_atm*emiss.bsq" with 5 bands for the emissivities (from bands 10-14) calculated with the selected emissivity option (NEM, ANEM, ISAC).
