Smile correction - rese_support - 02-Nov-2018 Quote:I have a question related to the smile correction in ATCOR-4 (Version 7.2 build 10) . Is there a way to apply the calculated smile (using the Spectral Smile Detection tool) to Radiance data without converting it to Reflectance in ATCOR-4. No, this is not foreseen for two reasons: - applying the smile to radiance would require spectral interpolation of the radiance data also within sharp absorption regions. Due to the non-linear nature of spectra, such interpolation leads to more artifacts rather than improving the data. - The detected smile has to be applied to the atmospheric correction function in order to correct the atmosphere 'smile-aware' - this can no longer be done if smile information had been applied to the original data The only thing which may be done before atmospheric correction would be to apply the average spectral shift to the spectral response such that the center wavelengths of the bands are improved. |
